Holding Out For More

The light in Seattle on this day was very odd. All day the big gray heavy clouds hung over the sky above, but the horizon had this clear band; while the light was muted from above it leaked out the edges of the sky line, almost as if all day the sunset was just about to burst. As I drove home a bit early this afternoon I noticed how fantastic the light was at the horizon on Rainier. I drove up to the overlook over I-90 but the view of Rainier wasn't clear enough so I decided to drive down the coast of Lake Washington searching for a view point. Coleman Park didn't offer a great angle either so I kept driving down to Seward Park where I stopped and took this photo.
